Lunar Eclipse December 10, 2011

Up one level

Lunar Eclipse - Bergen, Norway - 10th December 2011

By Odd Høydalsvik, Bergen, Norway

During totality, the moon was hidden by clouds, and would also probably been almost impossible to spot in the relatively ligt sky. At 16:13 we saw the first glimpse of the partly eclipsed moon through the clouds. 16 minutes after end of totality.

Weather at eclipse start

Weather conditions during thew early phases of the eclpse. This picture was taken only 3 minutes before the clouds allowed us the first glimpse of the moon. We had some rain showers, northernly wind and a temperature of around +5 degrees. So all in all we were lucky to see quite a lot of the eclipse.
